The Yale Park Neighborhood Association has continued to serve the neighborhood over the years because of volunteers who desire to participate in the planning and execution of our activities. Organized into committees focused on different areas and with roles as both committee chairs and members available, everyone who wants to get involved can find the right fit for them!
The Yale Park Neighborhood Association is made up of neighbors working to create an atmosphere where we can create a strong community. The Board of Directors serve a one-year term and consist of the Officers and Committee Chairs below:
Watch for Zoning Change Requests within or near the boundaries of the Yale Park Neighborhood. Monitor schedule and agendas for meetings of the City Council and City Planning Commission (CPC), attend as necessary, and report back to the Board and broader neighborhood community.
Recommend projects for improvement and beautification of our neighborhood common areas. Work closely with city government to participate in matching-funds projects. May also initiate internal projects such as “Yard of the Month.”
Purchase and maintain the flags, maintain a current list of flag sponsors, with assistance of the Secretary and/or Treasurer, communicate program activity to sponsor households, and coordinate with Scout Troop 81 for setting out and taking in flags during specified holiday periods.
Recommend and plan social functions and events for members of the Association.
Conduct an annual membership drive each year to encourage renewal of existing membership and enrollment of more residents as new members.
Each month deliver door hangers to welcome new residents of Yale Park.
Prepare and distribute information to the Association through all means deemed appropriate, including newsletters, website updates, email, and social media.
Monitor the “Yale Park Neighbors” website, and post, edit, or delete information as requested by the Board.
Recruit volunteers to participate in the Crime Watch program and encourage greater involvement.
